When Do You Need 301 Redirects?

301 (permanent) redirects permanently send visitors and search engines from an old URL to a new one - for example after a website relaunch, a domain change, or when you delete or rename pages. This preserves the existing SEO value of the old URL. Use 302 only for temporary redirects. Add the generated code to the .htaccess file in your site's root folder.
